Safe Speech, Free Speech and the University

This program explores the boundaries between First Amendment rights and "political correctness" on college campuses through the use of hypothetical cases involving racial slurs, charges of sexism and discrimination, and the issues growing out of "fighting words". Panelists include: Benno Schmidt, President of Yale University; Nadine Strossen, ACLU President; Nat Hentoff, journalist; and Randall Kennedy, Harvard Law Professor.
